Erster Neuzugang kommt aus Finnland
Lotta Hämäläinen heißt der erste offizielle Neuzugang der Dillingen Diamonds für die Saison 2023/24 in der 2. DBBL Süd. Die finnische Nationalspielerin kommt vom Espoo Basket Team aus der finnischen Topliga. Beim amtierenden finnischen Vizemeister war Lotta als Starting Point Guard gesetzt. Die Rolle der Spielmacherin soll sie jetzt auch in Dillingen übernehmen. Nach den Abgängen von Lisa Lorenz und Lara Wirtz bestand hier handlungsbedarf. Bei durchschnittlich fast 30 Minuten Spielzeit erzielte Lotta durchschnittlich knapp 6 Punkte, 4 Assists und 4 Rebounds im Schnitt. Why did you choose to play for the Diamonds?
Actually it was an easy choice! I liked everything that I heard from the Diamonds organization and I think I will fit well into this team.
What do you expect from next season?
Well, this is my first season outside Finland so it's a great opportunity for me. I want to enjoy as much as I can on and off the court.
What are your goals for next season?
My goal for next season is to help the team as much as possible. We'll try to win every game
At what age did you start playing basketball?
I was 7 years old.
Have you ever played for a national team?
Yes, I have played in the youth national team and last summer I played my first women’s national team game!
Do you have other hobbies than basketball?
No I don’t have, but during the summer I like to play all sports with my friends.
How would you describe yourself as a basketball player?
I am pass first PG and I like to make my teammates better. I also enjoy playing defense.
What are you looking forward the most?
I can’t wait to meet my new teammates and get to know them all. I'm very excited to join the Diamonds team
